So this is my first tank in over 20 years and I cant believe how much the hobby has changed. I wanted something simple to get back into the hobby with so I purchased the CADLIGHTS 39g Pro Series tank. After ironing out a few kinks with the tank I was finally able to get water in it 14 days ago.

The tank was started with 30lbs of uncured LR and 15lbs of LS...no raw shrimp, no bio-start additives. In addition to the LR and LS, i added 10-15lbs of MarcoRock and 20lbs of sand from MarcoRock. I have completed two 25% water changes are here are my parameters as of last night....

Salinity 1.025
PH 8.09
NH3/NH4 .25
NO2 0.0
NO3 0.0
Ca 520
Phosphate 0
DKH 8

I had significant peaks early on with NH3/NH4 and NO2 and I will continue to test for a few more days before adding my clean up crew. QUESTION...should I be concerned about my calcium level at this point?

I am not 100% sure about what kind of corals I will be stocking in this tank but definitely want to keep things simple so I would be open to some suggestions and I am only planning on 3-4 small to medium size fish. Here are a few pictures of my new obsession or as my wife puts it...."girlfriend".

Steve -
Good to see a thread going ! The pics aren't working though :frog:

I wouldn't worry about the CA levels yet. Quite honest Im still not worried about mine; but when I did start to dose in some Kalk water; the coraline took off - as well as some hitchhikers which like CA. I'd wait until the CUC has a hold on the alge, then maybe dose in some Kalk (It'll help w/the pH too).
