Hello everyone. New to the hobby and I was curious when people turn their lights on and off. Specially, what times do you turn them on and off? And how long do you leave them on for? I plan on having a mini reef system with fish in my 34 gallon RedSeaMax. Thanks for the help.

Actinics on 9am-11pm, daylights on 11am-9pm. All on a Coralife timer. Moonlights switch on as soon as actinics go off.

For my 58, the supplemental lights come on at 1 PM, and off at 12 (( midnight )). The MH's come on at 5 PM, and off 11 PM.

moonlights come on at 10 am and go off around 11 pm, and the halide comes on from 12 until 8 pm. The way I look at it is that corals are not always getting direct light. There are cloudy and rainy days, and there are days when it is partly sunny. Everyday there isn't and shouldn't be consistent sunlight for more than 8 to 9 hours 365 days a year. So I just leave my lights on for 8 hours. Idk that is just me trying to be logical lol.

I'm like most of these guys. I put the light schedule to be on when I'm home to enjoy the tank, not just during the "day" as we see it. The fish can't tell time or the difference anyways.

When I used a full fixture. Mine was VERY similar to pufferpunks as well.
Actinics - 10a-10p (12 hours)
Halides 12p-8p (8 hours)
Moonlights - always on (just the way the fixture was setup).
