Here's the background. A replacement tank is supposed to be coming today. So, the night before delivery, last night to be exact, I empty out the old tank. I put the cured live rocks in a 55 gal tank and fill that with the old tank water, and the remaining tank water of about 90 gal into two Brute containers. Powerheads on and nothing else.
Now, the delivery is delayed. Delivery time unknown. How long can those rocks stay as -is with powerheads before they go dead or putrid?

They should be fine like that as long as the temp doesn't get too high or too low.

Just make sure that you keep the powerheads in there, a heater (( if needed this time of year )), make sure to top off. Lastly, if you have any lights that you can put over them, that would be nice, but not needed.

Thanks. I kinda figured as much, but nice to have it confirmed.
Well, they found the darn replacement tank. Somehow, the tags got lost, and they stored it until someone, me, went asking for a missing shipment. It will be delivered tomorrow. Then I gotta paint it, then plumb it, then leak test it. Maybe another 48 hours from now before those rocks go into the tank. Shouldn't be too bad.
Man!! As far as this build is concerned, if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!!

i would feed the rocks like you had fish in there to keep the bacteria alive...
