How do i find where or if there deadpots in my tank?

If you drop some food in there, see where it blows and/or where it decides to "park it" on the sand.... then adjust powerheads accordingly. :)

agreed, feed flake a couple times and watch them move in the tank. just take it easy so you don't create a nutrient problem.

Once you find the spot where they park (the pellets or flakes) what do you do? No matter what you'll have a dead area right?

No, you can be creative with powerheads and have NO dead areas. That's why I like multiple lower flow powerheads rather then 1 or 2 high flow ones. You can point them at one another, or you can create a continous circular flow. Here's one intersting little factoid if you want a circular flow: it is better to go counterclockwise because the earth rotation will help flow :D
