View Full Version : Stainless Steel Forceps...

I bought some stainless steel forceps from MD a while a go, but despite my efforts of rinsing and drying them off, the saltwater took its toll and within 3 weeks or so.... rust.
What do I expect for $5 though, I suppose.
Does anyone know of some fairly high-grade stainless steel forceps that can withstand some salty water? Preferably under $20.
The searching I've done brings up equally inexpensive ($5-8) pairs, so I can only assume they will succumb to rust pretty quickly also.
Thanks :)

Not from personal experience, but they are non rusting, and made for propagation.

Ahhh yes... I've looked at those online, but if the cost is any indicator, I fear that they will rust despite the non-rusting claim. If I can't find something else... perhaps surgical grade forceps? Then I'll probably give those a shot.
Thanks :)

My wife found mine on E-bay for like 12 bucks. I was really careful to rinse and dry at first but then I got lazy. To this day absolutely no rust. Wish I had more details for you but ebay might be worth checking out.

that would probably work. i have a couple pair of clamps i got from peg tube kits at work that i use for algae pruning and such which haven't shown any signs of rust in the few weeks i have been using them. i do make sure to rinse very thoroughly with freshwater after each use.

Hmm.. hadn't thought of that - I wonder if they would have the same gripping power as metal ones, though?

Sounds good! If there is any chance you could check your ebay feedback history for the actual seller, I would be so grateful. :)
