He has 10 appendages including claws. He is about the size of a quarter at the moment. Anyone else?

it's a decorator crab with some sort of sponge or coral or something completely encrusted to him.

+1 Either sponge or some sort of colonial tunicate. Absolutely a decorator of some sort.

Well its obviously some kind of crab that has coral or sponge growth on its back or shell. Or maybe its an evolved type of sponge or Coral that has sprouted legs to make it more mobile. or I guess it could be some kind of demon creature sent here to bring in the apocalypse?

Certainly not. I'm now convinced it is a decorator/sponge-decorator crab with colonial tunicates on it.

Spongy decorator crab Macrocoeloma trispinosum with tunicates.

Staghorn hermits come from the Pacific, Gulf of California down to Panama.
