I came across a hitchiking fungia on a frag the other day and wanted to know if they ahve any particular quirks. The frag itself is a chip about the size of my pinkie nail with no decernable mouth.

The flesh is a green and brown color with no decernable tenticles. I'm not entirely sure it's a living frag, I just remain hopeful because it appears to have flesh and not just be an odd colored algea.

The frag disconnected it from a clove polyp that was holding onto it, and I've placed it on the sandbed with good light and moderate current. I have to move it every day because my sand sifting starfish finds it intriguing every night and pulls it into the shadows before deciding to leave it alone.

Does anyone know how to keep this little guy in one spot? and is there anything special I should know about him?

Photo! :celeb1:

Please don't mind the algea. My turbo snail died, I changed my lights, and tried a new feeding recipe. The reef gods hate me right now...

Did you ever see it move or spread its tentacles ?

I've not seen it move, but it was putting out some very small tenticles last night that could only be seen with a magnifying glass. But then again, the whole thing is the size of the fingernail on my pinkie finger.
