Sump lighting

I'm wanting to put some LEDS in my sump just to get some light down there for working a to keep a fish or 2. My question is if I got some blue LEDS like the stunner strips from ecoxotic will a get a algae problem?? Does blue actinic light grow algae???

I would believe algae would grow with ANY light but with your blue light it prob wont grow as fast!

I have been pondering this as well. Thinking of taking the cheato out of fuge and using some LED to house a few critters for a short time. Thinking of using the higher output ones, I think it is the panorama 8K. Currently using 18W PC so hope the LED is a step up.

well i might give it a go, just some really blue LED's and see if i get any growth, they will be on a 8 hour light cycle.
