What is Kalk Slurry? I seem to be fighting the beginning stages of dinogflagellates and read that keeping the pH elevated with kalkwasser drip helps.

I see people mention kalk slurry though. What is that?

Kalk Slurry can be used to kill Aptiasa anemones. Dripping Kalk involves letting it settle out and then adding the clear liquid to your tank. You don't want to add the Kalk powder to your tank, it takes for ever to clear up and any particals that land on delicate livestock can be damaged.

Kalk is very dangerous stuff and I would not recommend any one who is a beginner use it . dinoflagelates are a normal part of the cycle and will feed the bacteria in your sand bed as they die as long as your using good clean RO or distilled water they will clear up naturally in 1 to 2 weeks time, also if you keep your alkalinity at 8 to 10 dkh that should maintain your ph high enough to inhibit dinos.
