ICECAP + Surprised me = Maybe awesome?

So, as many of you all know I recently sold off my reef tank and just sticking to my 75gallon Fowlr tank. I did a fire sale and sold everything off in about a weeks time. But when I sold my ballasts off, I actually had to get one sent off for repair, before I could in good conscious sell it. What really shocks me is I get home tonight look at my front door and find a large box and I'm like i didnt order anything? Probably just p!ssed someone off and its filled with antrax or something lmao. Anywho I notice the box was from ICECAP which boggled my mind, I open it, and I find a new ballast, and one of those digital timers(the icecap 45$ ones) and a letter from the VP of ICECAP staying how they are sorry it took so long to repair my ballast and please accept this free timer as our way of saying sorry, blah blah blah etc....I'm utterly shocked because I received the ballast about oh 2-3weeks ago atleast. So, I'm going to call ICECAP VP and tell her. But I'm guessing I might of gotten a free ballast and timer.

so ethics come into play here, would anyone here just take the ballast timer and not mention anything and run with it? figuring they screwed up not my fault I like free stuff?

Odds are since they'll have to pay for shipping two more times (back to them then off to the right customer) they'll just opt to let you keep it. Sounds like you got someone elses ballast as well as a new timer. I'd wager that ballast had a warranty issue and got sent in for repairs. Just looks new.

well, I just got off the phone with the VP from ICECAP, ends up they said they could sell it to me for 60$ with the timer. i explained how i did not have a tank anymore then she said i could just resell it to someone. so when i get the official OK from Laura i will pass the deal on to Sac people

it'd be 60$ i believe with the timer as a freebee. is anyone interested? shoot me a pm

Icecap has has exceptional service and products the entire 10 years I've been dealing with them. That's why there are six Icecap 250 mh ballasts and one 660 VHO balast over my tank.
