Dosing

Ok so i am starting to turn my tank into an SPS with some LPS tank. I have a 250 MH on my 40 gallon tank. I keep my Calcium around 500 ppm and i keep my Alkalinity around 150 ppm. I read peoples journals and they say they dose a certain amount each day, but i hardly ever have to because my calcium and Alk stay at expectable ranges. So do i still need to dose every day? I use B- ionic 2 part when i needs to be raised. Also another question. Its an acrylic and has a lot of scratches on it. What would be a good scratch remover that allows me to use it with water in the tank and corals and fish?

never used acrylic or plan to so ill stay away from that one, as far as dosing, i would stick with, if it aint broke dont fix it. when it starts to go down a little bit i would dose, but until then, i feel you would be adding something that should not be added and then you could end up having your levels too high.
