I was at a LFS today and saw a wrasse I have never seen before in 16 years. I was told it was a Panda wrasse and that it was "Reef Safe". Well I didn't buy it and I didn't take pictures either. I figured I could come home and find it on the internet somewhere. Well here is the description of it. Body shaped like a 6-line wrasse and was the size of a large 6-line. The front half was white/cream the second half was black and it had a yellow tail with a black spot on it. I would love to get the fish, but I wanna know more about it first. Any Ideas? I will try to get a pic if I go back there soon.

Based on your description I'm going to guess it was a juvenile Hemigymnus melapterus.

It's a little ways down on this page: http://wetwebmedia.com/hemi,hologymnos.htm

Thanks, that middle pic is spot on. Good thing I didn't buy that guy.

Yeah, they get a little too big for most tanks. ;)
