newbie question on placing frags

I got a bunch of acans and I wanted them all on one rock. They were on frag plugs so used waterweld epoxy and superglue gel. I kinda was a wuss on cutting to close and trying to make them fit. Will Acans eventually grow over the skeleton and plugs. Right now it looks like crap. I didn't want them in the sand.

yes they will grow and eventually fuse. I put a green and red together and they fused and I also have 7 different rainbow acans on 1 plug and they are fusing together. So yes they will grow over the skeleton.

How do they grow in the sand on plugs? Do they just grow upward?

Mine encrust until they've hit the sand, and then grow upwards.
