so for the second time in a row UPS has managed to make one of my orders not all show up at the same time and this time I'm really worried because it's my 60" ATI blue plus bulbs!!!!

heres what the status is "THE PACKAGE WAS LEFT IN A UPS FACILITY / FORWARDED TO THE FACILITY IN THE DESTINATION CITY " :furious:

why do I have this filling there messed up/broken? why did it have to be THAT package?:rolleye1:

I returned a package to Amazon a few weeks back. It has shown ARRIVAL AT FACILITY for 2 weeks now, in the wrong city. Amazon doesn't have it... Gotta love missing packages.

FED EX :thumbsup:Every time I root for fedEx someone goes, "Too expensive." At least I receive/send my packages on time and correctly. (This is me agreeing with seller, UPS sucks at best)

There needs to be a penalty for shipping companies being late more than a certain time period than what was "estimated". The word estimated needs to be changed to guaranteed or your money back. Granted this may not work economically for a shipping company, but hey volume would be up...

ya, free shipping (what this was) isn't sounding all that good anymore.

guess I have to wait to set up the retro fit until the bulbs show up :thumbdown I was kind of hoping to have it all done before I get my fish tomorrow.(I'm tang'n it UP!:fish1: 2 or 3x yellow, Desjardini Sailfin, scopas, purple, and maybe a Sailfin:wildone:)

In all honesty no matter how good the price I would never buy bulbs online unless they were Metal Halide. Having been in or around the transportation industry since I was 3 years old I would never trust seasonal or part time dock workers to handle a box marked fragile any differently than every other box.

One visit to a package sorting facility be it UPS, FedEX, or DHL will make you realize the sheer volume of what they are touching on a daily basis means your box has no value or consequence to them.

My bigger beef is the reliance on computerized systems that do great when they work, but when they don't no one knows what to do. I guarantee the package that shows at a facility fell off the conveyor after the arrival scan and they still have not located it during their normal dock checks.

All that being said you have to love that a box can come all the way from New York to California for 7 bucks!

Interestingly UPS will not initiate a trace on an Amazon return, and Amazon will not call UPS. Whatever, they are giving me the refund anyway.

Neither ups nor fedex estimates anything other than during high volume holiday shipping. If you shipped a package it is GUARANTEE by a particular date or you will get a FULL REFUND back on shipping cost. When I state refund this goes to the shipper not the reciever since they are the actual person paying the shipping cost to UPS. If your bulbs came let and they are not oversized and there wasn't anything out of of UPS control such as weather conditions your shipper got a refund and basically didn't pass that refund on to you.

I can go on and on about this but the majority of people that complain about UPS FEDEX shipping didn't truly understand the logistic behind logistics and probably ship 1-5 packages a year if that.

Use priority mail. The best service for your buck. There is a weight limit of 70 lbs. All the postal services' mail is flown by FED EX so why pay the FED EX price. It all goes on the same plane.

The USPS flat rate Marketing ploy is at best a fair deal unless your items are really 70lbs and can really fit in one of the flat rate 12x12x6 boxes. Has anyone lost a package through us mail system and tried to locate it? IMPOSSIBLE and don't get me started on trying to file a claim with the post office, your better off at the DMV on a furlogh friday;). Don't get me wrong USPS is great if your mail envelopes and don't need to provide proof of delivery or tracking but for pretty much everything else it's USPS is useless.

Ps. USPS doesn't distinguish any difference between priority and parcel mail other than the price difference. If you mailed a package out priority and parcel they will get the same service/speed...

Kinda OT but...

So 2 or 3 of those total?? Or 2 or 3 Yellow Tangs PLUS all those?? Weren't you the one with a fairly new tank??

Just a thought.

yes yellows + the rest, they need to be introduced at the same time and I'm willing to do a few extra water changes to help keep up with the bio load until the tank can catch up.

I might also not buy all of them, I might not buy the purple or the scopas.
