local guy is taking down his tank and has LR i want to get.
he says it has colonel Anemones on the LR but they look like aptasia to me some one help.
please take a look at the pics he put up.

Looks like aptasia to me from those pics. Especially image #3.

Wonder if he is farming the stuff.
I've never heard of colonel anemones unless he means a colony of aptasia.

Well if he's giving it away and you boil the rocks, maybe I'd take it.

That's a Copperband Butterfly's dream right there! That's aptasia.God that tank is a mess.I wouldn't get it. I wouldn't get it unless hes giving you it for free, and you plan on drying it out.

I wouldn't bother. The rock itself doesn't look like it's very lively anyways, and with all that aptasia on it you'd want to nuke it anyways.
