Not much. N. oerstedii gets a bit larger and is more likely to be found in shallow water which means it can tolerate more light. N. oerstedii also tends to have a mottled appearence where N. wennerae more frequently is a darker, solid rust or green. Both are hardy and forage away from their cavities.
