So if I were to keep the same genus but different species, would there be aggression? Usually the same species will be okay but i have no clue about the same genus...
Ideally, I am looking to get a Vrolik's Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysotaenia) and a mated pair of melanurus wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus). Anyone have any insight/experience? Wrasse man hopefully?

I had an ornate and a two spot that could not be kept in the same tank. But neither paid any attention to a yellow.

I kept a H. melanurus and a H. lecoxanthus together with no issues.

Also could depend on tank size? What will they be going into?

christmas and melanurus in the same tank for a couple of months so far and no problems. The christmas is about 5 in. and has been in the tank for a long time. just added the 3 in. melanurus a couple of months ago to take care of a flatworm problem and she's done a great job. they pretty much ignore each other.

Oh I forgot to add, I kept multiple yellows without issue.
