LFS water 1.016

Just brought home a new fish and the LFS water SG is 1.016. My aquarium is 1.025. I'm dripping and in 2 hours got it the LFS water to 1.018. What's the fastest I could bring it up?

oops re-calibrated my refractometer and it was way off but still there is a huge difference between my tank and the LFS water. Now I'm at

Are you accclimating to your display or a QT, if to a QT you can just lower the salinity in it. If to a display I believe I have read only .002 per day.

Hours of acclimating is more stressful to fish than a minor salinity swing. I'd just put it in the tank. (Actually I'd put it in a quarantine tank where I could have adjusted the tank water in 5 minutes but that's another discussion.)
