Thinking of dropping $100 on a RBTA. Never had one, what should I know except that they die when sucked into a siphon and that when dead they are the most discusting thing on earth. I have one false perculla and will get another with the anenome. Tank is 75, good HOT skimmer, ATI powermodule 4X54 fixture, Rena canister filter for carbon and phosphate remover, two Hydor 1050s, one smaller power head for shooting across the back of the tank. Alk around 8, cal around 350, ph around 8. Shallow sand bed. What should I know and what are your experiences?

Thanks "Hundreds"

I love my RBTA. I got mine from a local member cheap and it's gorgeous. The only thing I can say is that mine moves all over the tank. Even when it seems to find a good spot for a few weeks, one day I will come home and it will be on the other side. I have a reef tank too so it's more of an issue for me :( So far so good though.

There's a guide in Anenomes & Clownfish thread that has excellent information various types of clowns and the anenomes

Does $100 sound like a reasonable price? Do percula clowns like them? Do they kill corals if they move around a lot?

It sounds like a bit much, unless it's pretty big. Do you have alocal reef club? Maybe you can buy a clone off someone, that's what I did. Mine is about 5" and it only cost me $40.00 off another club member.

$80-$100 seems like the going retail rate for a small 2-3" one. sad, but true. i would ask around locally to see if you can get one from someone's split first.
