I currently have a pump called the quiet one brought to me by a lfs guy a few months back saying it was good. It has been okay it does have a bit of heat but all in all its been okay....But I want more... the issue I feel I have is I am pretty sure it gives me less than 700gph is this good return for a 90 gallon Sps dominant tank? I realise the return also will shoot this into the sock at the same gph so is any higher beneficial/called for? IF you think like me that I need more what pump should I look into? It has to be in sump and not bigger than 8" w and 10"long. thank you

That seems a little small! Try a mag 9.5 I had one on my 90 gallon for over 3 years, plenty of flow and never gave me my problems

That is a fine for your return. Using a return pump for all of your flow wastes a lot of electricity. There are pumps out there that use props that will put out 1500+ gph and use 10w of electricity. If the water flows too fast through your sump your skimmer can't get it all out.

I would consider 700gph too much for a 90, no matter what it has in it.
As raynist said, get your flow from internal prop pumps.

Don't have a lot of experince with return pumps but I can say that I really like this pump:

Less heat and noise than my mag5 and the adjustable flow is a nice touch as well.

Okay I will look into a internal prop pump any recommendatios I don't like my mp40 but like the power.

Really?
I'm having a 90 built (48x24x18) and will be using two MP40's in the tank (master/slave).
What return pump would you recommend? Like an eheim 1260?

Think he/she was saying that 700 is too much for a return and that flow should more come from lower wattage powerheads. Hope I got that right :)

Yeah.
I was just asking if I were using two MP40's in a 90, would the eheim 1260 be sufficient?

I would say most definitely and you may even need a ball valve in your return line just in case you need to throttle it back.

Yeah.

Eheims are great pumps. With head loss it should work pretty good.
With 2 MP 40's, I hope this is going to be a sps tank.
I have 2 of the MP40's in my 240 soft coral tank and it's alot.

I just found out that the MP10W's work as master/slave also.
The tank will be mostly SPS but will have LPS and softies.
Think two MP10's instead of two MP40's?

Usually you want your return pump 7-10x the display volume. So 700-900 GPH would be sufficent. You'll also need to calculate what your drains can allow to prevent flooding. Also calculate headloss.
What are your drain sizes?
For flow inside of display, you generally want 30-40x display volume, wide or random being the best (Tunze, vortec, etc).

1 1/4" vacuum style hose coming down and 3/4" going up I am looking for 3 more power heads maybe one mp40 and 2 mp20 or a few tunze guys that move a good amount nd can be controlled.

IMO... Eheim 1260 would be a good choice.
