I've used MB7 and I now use Microbe Lift. MB7 was good but I get less algae on the glass and it seems like less detritus with Microbe Lift special blend.

i use microbe lift special blend too. i used it when my tank crashed from over cleaning live rock and sand bed. worked really well.
how does everybody that uses it on a regular basis dose it and how often and how much?
oh yeah, the smell is really bad. reminded me of when i took apart my diy sulfur nitrate reactor after it set unused for awhile. lol!

+1 hold your breath cause its bad enough to gag you. I have to use it when my wife is at work or it wouldn't be aloud in the house. The MB7 was turning my sand and glass brown after a while.

I dose it every week or two following bottle directions x2. It says you can double it in saltwater because the salinity slows the bacteria down a bit.

 Ha, I also dose when the wife isnt here! I did it once when she was here and she thought it was my gas:bounce3: I must be potent!

It's a bacterial supplement like the rest of the products being discussed here.

+1 with saltygeek, I just follow the directions on the box.. You dose every week for 5 weeks I believe.... Then, every other week for maintenance. Make sure your UV or Ozone is off for at least 72 hours, and make sure the dosing is done after your scheduled water changes for full benefit..

I think he meant, what do bacterial supplements do. My understanding is that they naturally "clean" the water by lower things like nitrate, phosphate, ammonia.

Thanks, for the assist.. The name "Micobe Lift's Special Blend" has thrown folks off in the past, that why I responded to the ML SB question specifically.
