Bad News Skimmer......

Well, my daughter called me this morning to tell me that there was water in my basement floor. After a quick look she diagnosed that my skimmer was leaking. By leaking I mean the rotating seal had given it up!. After rushing home and turning all the pumps involved off and closing some valves I pulled the skimmer out of it's cubby hole. What a pain. I pulled the pump apart and sure enough the seal was the culprit. I gave the pump and plumbing a mild muriatic acid bath only to find that I also had a bad bearing in the motor. This wasn't good! I called Reeflo Pumps and talked with Beth, who told me to box everything up and send it to her, it would all be fixed under warranty! That parts good, the week my skimmer and tank is going to be down I'm not too sure of. Anyway that was my morning. I guess it could've been worse.
