I am a student at the University of Kansas and I live in a older apartment complex on the third floor. Would a 29 gallon tank be alright? I feel as though it would be but I would rather be safe than sorry. I don't want to come back from class one day with my tank sitting in the apartment below me!

Any other opinions? Should be fine is not reassuring.

A fully stocked 29 weighs 300lbs. That should not be any problem for your building.

Actually you are looking at closer to 350-400 lbs. Still, I don't think that is of any concern. You could always get 2 big guys or one person that weighs 400 lbs. and try it out? If you see the floor flex at all or make noise then you should have your answer.

+1 I currently have two 29g tanks in my apt.

Water is about 10lbs per galon. Plus your rock, dont forget sand is alot more heavy when wet.
You will be fine. As long as you got a good strong stand. Your cool.
