I have the 12g nc dlx and im looking at getting the vortech MP10 for it. I kinda have a lot of LR so i was wondering if that will restrict the flow and make it just the same as the koralia nano i have in there right now? Also i want to upgrade my lights and i was thinking of getting the retro kit for 72 or 96 watts from nanotuners. let me know what you think about that kit and let me know if there are any other light fixtures under $200 (preferably t5) that fit/work well with the 12 gallon nano cube. thanks in advance

Nanotuners has retro kits for DIY LED's. If you're paying for electricity, you save there over time and you virtually never have to replace the bulbs. It's also much stronger than T5's.

An mp10 will be fine for a tank that size. The flow is adjustable from around 400 - 1200 gph, and a k-nano is around 400.

Good luck and Welcome to RC :D

MP10 is 500 to 1575 gph and has a much larger propeller so the flow will be much more. It is a bit much but I have one on my 9 gallon. And has a much smaller footprint so doesnt take up room in your small tank. So if you got the cash I say do it!

Oh and a Koralia Nano comes in 2 versions a 240 and a 425 gph.

But you guys dont think the rock work will get in the way and prohibit the mp10 from performing to its fullest abilities?

The flow of those things is usually so broad that I don't think it should prohibit the mp10 too much. With you putting on of those beast in a 9 gallon I highly doubt you will have any dead spots within the tank.

Yeah a MP10 will have no problem with flow even if you fill that tank with rock.
