I was wondering my lights come on at 12 lunch. They go out at 8pm. When would be best to feed them? I ussually feed around 4pm. Is it better to feed them as soon as they wake up or give them a bit to work up a appetite?

I would try to fed twice a day -- don't want that trigger going after your other fish.

I should change that. The niger and the picasso are in there own predator tank now. My new rule is the meanest fish that should go in a reef is a clown.

I try to always feed at the same time, usually an hour before the lights go out.

Every other day. Fish & Nems about 5pm. When I spot feed the corals I do so between 9-10pm

lights on at noon, i feed around 3. the fish are usually pretty active by about 9am, so I figure the middle of the day is best for them. It's an assumption based on absolutely nothing aside from the fact that I'd like to eat towards the end of the middle of the day if I only ate once a day. I've never gotten the finger if I feed too early or late, so I don't think it really matters.

But they eat all day long in the wild.

I feed mine frozen in the afternoon after work and then a little pellet just before the lights go out.

A good quality auto feeder is a worthwhile investment. I have the dual chamber Eheim which is set up to dispense food 3 times a day. Half hour after lights on, another feeding around midday and an evening feeding half hour before lights out. The two chambers give more flexibility as to food types and number of feedings. When I'm home, I pull the feeder just before the last feeding time in the evening and give the critters a treat of thawed out frozen goodies from the freezer. When I'm away, the feeder does it's thing and all they miss out on is the evening treat.
