Got home from work today and I noticed part of the brain coral hanging off the side. I see no scar or tissue loss and the coral seems healthy. Not sure what its doing? Is it splitting to reproduce?

Dropping a baby most likely. All else looks healthy. You should be a proud parent.

Ya it does look like it is splitting to me too. That is pretty cool, I have not seen that before. It may be because how you have it positioned on the rock.

I have a caulastea colonie that does that alot. Tries to drop little pieces to crowd out other corals. You might want to do a safety water check just in case though, some times corals will do that if they're stressed.

Hopefully everything is ok. It could be stress, I just got the coral a week ago. I will do a water change just in case but hopefully everything is ok. I tried to research it on the net but really didnt find anything. Overall, I did a good visual check of it and it looks good.
