Snail ID

Two weeks ago my parents got back from Coronado Island. They visited multiple lagoon's and were able to bring me back a snail I have never seen before. It has barnacles all over its shell and surprisingly are still alive and filtering. The snail itself is completely jet black like I have never seen before. Also, on the rim of the black is a really beautiful red coloration. It's a great algae eater.

Any idea's?

I really hate to guess that blindly. If you can get a pic of it, we can probably tell you what it is.
