I am debating on which one of these fixtures to get, if it was you which would you get and why?
I am going to that pet place so I can save on shipping since its only a 1 and a 1/2 hour drive from my house to save on shipping, they sell all 3 of these reflectors there but I am not sue which one would be the best for par readings and coverage on my 180 gallon rr. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

Will these be in a hood? or hanging solo?
Also, I think that pet place has $8.99 shipping for anything which I'm sure is cheaper than 1.5 hours of gas

They will be hanging solo, and the drive is just an excuse to get me out of the house, hour and a half drive isnt that bad, maybe 1/4 tank of gas there and back, so about $10.00 in gas. I was going up to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey once a week, its a 3 hour drive or so and would use about 1/2 a tank there and back, I dont mind driving, better then sitting around doing nothing.

IMO, the Elite is pretty ugly by itself. It needs to be in a hood or some sort of canopy. I have the Lumenmax3 on my frag tank and really like the spread. I'm not familiar with the reef optix so I have no opinion on that one.

I have the elite and the max 3 right now. I had 3 - Lumenmax3 on my 180 and one broke a few days before leaving for a two week vacation. I was not able to get a lumenmax3 in time so I picked up the elite. Right now I have two lumenmax3 and the elite in the center. The elite gives out much more light spread (using same bulb - same age as the other two) and I really like it. Mine are in a canopy so cosmetics was not an issue.
For me - I like the elite better than the max3 and I do not have any experience with the reef optix.

What bulb and what wattage are you planning to run. If it's 250 watt, I would get lumenmax 2's and radiums.

Thanks for the responses, I am gonna be doing 250 watt and 14k phoenix bulbs. I was thinking of adding a canopy or something similar that has an open top.
