who are they? do they know their stuff? from what i can tell form the website that grunge stuff might be a great substrate for a softy tank like mine no?

They know their stuff and it works. Though it doesn't work to everyone's satisfaction. Just like the DSB argument, you'll find no legitimate consensus and what works for you will be exactly what someone else claims is bogus.

Dealt with GARF many times and the last was it for me. Got the run around for a month before I got in contact with them to try an remedy the situation. He does know his stuff but lack of organization really hurts GARF. There are better vendors to go through trust me. Just get a handful of sand form an established tank same thing.
