I had several large patches of red slime going pretty strong in my tank for a week or so. Really started to get me concerned. Man that stuff is nasty.
I tested my po4 with a Hanna meter and got .03 tested nitrates with Lamotte, it was zero. I decided to dose 1 tsp of Zeovit ZeoZyme mixed with tank water dosed directly in my tank every day for a week. This + ZeoBac is the treatment reccomended by the Zeovit guys. I didn't have any Bac so I just used the ZZ. By the 4th day its almost totally gone. I attribute this to the protolytic enzymes in the Zeo stuff anyways..
Worth a shot.. I'd try just about anything to get rid of that unsightly crud.
