Driving back to Anchorage from Homer this weekend we saw a couple sheep. It's unfortunate that they were right in front of some power lines, I couldnt get any good angle that showed them without the lines behind them. Yes, I could fix the lines and if I was ever going to sell one of the photographs I would, but for here I dont mind leaving them in ;)

You know, I probably wouldn't have found the lines as distracting if you didn't say anything... lol :)

Either way, great shots. I love the 3rd shot, it looks as if they are checking you out!

Hah. The funny thing about the lines is that area of the trip has almost no power lines, it's a ways up the mountain but right there the lines go up away from the road and over a ridge, then back down to the road again. They just happened to be right at that one spot where the power lines are at, it was too bad.

I hiked up and around a little knob and popped up behind it to take pictures. Those sheep are *alert*, let me tell you. When I came around this little hill and poked my head and camera over, they saw me immediately and it was all eyes on me to see what I was going to do for at least a minute or two, then they went back to browsing.

Cool shots Recty. We didn't see any driving thru the arm last night, but the sunset was awesome! Low tide, some areas where the water was like glass. Perfect timing too because my sister in in visiting. Did see a black bear, some porpose, eagles, and bunch of other stuff. Where the heck is the termination dust?! I miss my fall colors with snow capped mtns!

I got some great shots of some RAMs (Dall Sheep) in Denali last week (still haven't processed those images...busy, busy!). They were on a perfect ridge up at Polychrome. Then were all laying facing different directions. Then one stood up, then another, then most, then all and they were off running down the slope. Not far up the road we ran into a pack of wolves!! They are quite aware of their surrounds! In retrospect it was interesting that they had all directions visually covered when they were bedded down. Not sure if that was by design, or accident, but likely by design.

I have found though that if you are visible and take your time you can get close. In fact a few years ago mt ex-g/f got yelled at by a Ranger for being too close. Truth is we were stationary and they came to us!
