Noob question re: latest firmware version

I am just starting to install my new Apex controller. I run Mac computers.

I managed to hook up the Apex to my router with an Ethernet cord and I got into the Apex controller webpage and I am following the Unofficial New User Guide instructions. After setting the time, my next step was to see if I needed to update the firmware.

According to the Neptune Systems website, the latest firmware version is 4.03

However, when I look on my Apex webpage the XML datalog states that the version I have is apparently "AC4:05526", at least according to the user guide these are this first part of the datalog report represent my current firmware version.

What is the latest firmware version and which version do I have?

On that same page you found the AC4:05526, look at the very first line. It should look something like...

datalog software="4.03_6A10" hardware="1.0"

That's where you'll find the firmware version... even though it's called software in the code. What I posted above, I *believe*, is the latest version.

I think the AC4:05526 just means that it's an Apex (or AC4 if you're keeping track) and your unit's serial number is 05526. Looks like yours was in line a few spots before me - I have 05571!

I found the version number somewhere else though, under network setup it says version 4.03_6A10 so it looks like I am up to date.
