This is unfortunate because I was a frequent customer of their saltwater fish dept and was very pleased with all my purchases. I even posted a little while ago on ctfishstores praising them for their selection, their prices, and their tanks. Something happened a few weeks ago involving All Pets Club and the purchase of a puppy that I feel needs to be shared and while it is not directly relevant to the aquarium hobby, I think it speaks volumes about the business ethics of All Pets Club.
We purchased a puppy approximately a month ago from All Pets Club for $800. The decision was made by my significant other and it was to be her dog. When we purchased it, we were told when we bought it that the puppy could be returned within 48hrs for 50% of the purchase price. I found this policy to be extreme but, as they say, 'it is what it is'.
After getting the dog, she began to get cold feet and decided to return the it. Consequently, she lost 50% of the money ($400). All pets club then sold the dog to someone else within a weeks time for full price.
She then began to feel that returning the dog was a rash decision and wanted to get another one. All Pets Club just got in another of the same dog this week. She called on the dog and explained the situation (we still have all the paperwork) and All Pets Club wants to sell her a second dog for FULL PRICE!. She tried to discuss it with them and they offered to take $50 off the dog!
I personally feel that this is outrageous.
In regard to the policy itself, I feel that All Pets Club should either not take the dog back at all or give a full refund within 24/48hrs. By giving the customer back 50%, they are clearly discouraging people from returning the dogs. In doing so, they are promoting irresponsible people to keep a dog that, consequently, may not receive proper care. It causes me, the consumer to ask where their priorities lie. Clearly, the priorities do not lie with the dog.
By the fact that All Pets Club wants to profit three times off this dog, their priorities are not with the customer either. Its all about profit at All Pets Club.
Frankly, Im disgusted with the business ethics here. Regardless of what the policies are, giving us a break on the second dog is the right thing to do.
I will never buy a single thing from All Pets Club again and neither will anyone I know. I will be sure to spread the word and I encourage others to do so as well.
