ATI PM 8X24" fixture or 8 SLR retrofit?

I am going to builidng a canopy for my tanks this summer and I am leaning towards going for T5's. I am having a tough time decideing between the two. Both around the same price. I will have my canopy well venelated. I will build in four fans. 4 aross the top and the back will be completely open.
I am also looking at getting 2 4X24" sunpower fixtures for a cheaper price.
Tough decision.

Or

I will have to sell my large lumenbright pendent and buy a small lumenbright and put in some VHO's. If I do this I will have to buy a chiller and by the time I get all the equipment it would be mpre reasonable to sell my lighting I have now and just buy T5's. The chiller alone could cost $500. T5's would cost around $800.
Tank is a 93 gallon cube

why would you need to buy a chiller when you are already running a halide but just in a bigger reflector without using a chiller? i don't think adding 2 vho bulbs will constitute a chiller

By adding a canopy the heat gets trapped in more with MH. I would rather keep my current setup and go with to VHO's But then I look into having to get a smaller pendent to fit in my canopy and having to buy a chiller. It costs the smae or more to keep what I have. I allreaady have $450 invested in lighting.

WHy VHO's? Look at some of the Blue LED strips out there. As long as you aren't running a really yellow halide 2 or 3 of the Ice Cap strips should do you.

I wiell look into open top canopy. Only thing I am worried about is that I will still have cables from the ceiling. I will look into doing a conduit lamp tree for my MH pendent.

I have the 8x24 ATI PM over my 60 cube (24x24x24), built into an open top canopy and I couldn't be happier. The 8x24 would provide you great coverage, but if you want FULL coverage (like put a clam ANYWHERE), I'd go with the 10x24 =)

In my canopy, I had "rails" built that the ATI PM sits on. No cables from the ceiling..

I think 10 would be great but I think 8 would do. I have a tough decision ahead of me.
