20 gallon long with lots of rock, 2-3" sand bed, single standard fluorescent tube, no sump. Planning for 2-3 fish, shrimp, snails, few hermit crabs, and a couple of nonphotosynthetic and/or low light coral.

So, my two questions are:

1. should I get the reef octopus bh 1000 skimmer or the bubble magus 6nac?
2. which pump or pumps should I use to circulate the water in the display? I have a Koralia 1 and I think there is too little flow right now.

thanks.

you might be able to just get away with weekly water changes if there will be very little bio-load. Can't answer your question about the skimmer but I have heard people liking both. Add another Koralia 2 or 3 at the opposing end of the tank and at a different hight from the other one to create a mixed current.

Not too sure about the skimmers as I just do weekly water changes. I also only have two fish so the bioload is not very high. As for the flow perhaps another Koralia 1 would do. I run my 20L with two of the new Koralia nano's (425 gph) and a 300 gph return from my sump.
