most online vendors usually have one for around that price. search around & you can probably find one on sale somewhere

bulkreefsupply.com has one for $40.00. They are a reputable online company, that's where i plan to get mine.

not sure how much of a difference it makes, but BRS' refractometer, you calibrate it to 1.0264. supposedly that helps to be more accurate as its closer to our water salinity, where as a lot of other refractometers are calibrated at 1.000.

As far as I know, all refractometer are supposed to be calibrated to 1.026 with a 53ms solution ( Pinpoint Salinity 53ms ). The one you said above calibrated to 1.000 is not to be used for reef system.
