well not completely, but since i got my Super Reef Octopus LX2000s Hang-on Protein Skimmer a couple of months ago, the skimmer would sometimes turn off and i would need to plug it back in, then recently let it rest when i had to plug it back in. now this weekend it went off and wouldnt turn back on. so taking it apart it all makes sense now. Now i need dennis to get me a new pump. i want a whole new one not just a propeller replacement cuz i fear it would happen again. dammit.

That is a true magnet blowout! :eek2: Well, their warranty states three years on the BB so you should be covered. I would contact them directly.

yeah but i dont have the box or anything with me. so i need dennis to do it since it arrived at his store. in a rush i left all boxes and info.

If you have a copy of the receipt, than you should be ok. They fully understand that most people are not going to keep the box. I agree w/Jay on this. Dennis should have a statement of where he purchased it for you to have. I would contact them directly. Going between you and Dennis and the MFG will be a very frustrating process and prolonging you getting the replacement skimmer. Don't take no for an answer from Dennis, business is business--get that statement.

well since i have the skimmer out, i might as well paint the front part black and the little pump black also to give it an even cleaner look inside.

k went by dennis's, he had already spoken to them on his day off. was shipped out yesterday/same day. even called them while i was there to see if we can just replace the whole thing. ill wait to see how it works with the replacement part for now.

it scraped the inside pretty good, they said it just might have not been seated right but probably a defective propeller. these pumps are brand new. so if there is any sign of it not working perfectly, i get a new pump. ill be looking for signs. haha

That is real good new that Dennis helped you out. Hopefully you will be able to get your skimmer back up and running soon. Did you happen to get a statement from him or did you purchase by CC?

so the part came in last week promply. then i put it back together 3 times. and the pump would LEAK. a bit less everytime but still. so i went with dennis he did the same thing and got it to leak even less. about a small drop every 3-5 min. sooo its working but we are still going to try and get a whole new pump. they keep wanting to send random replacement parts.

the skimmer works better than before for sure. but still has some faint sputtering humming. so ill keep it updated.

If the magnet gernated in the pump then the pump is done for sure!!!! Simple fix just send a whole new pump!!! And then send them the old one back. I know two other people that have hang-on back octopus and they love them. But i am still the fan of the extremes. We should just drill the tank and be done with it! :)
