I just set up a my tank over the weekend. I bough live rock from a couple in my area who had extra left over from when they consolidated their small tanks into one big one. The tank has cleared and I can see between 20 and 25 tube worms and a small pink anemone (I think). The people I bought the rock from asked me how the rock was doing and I told them I had a bunch of tube worms on it. They told me to remove a bunch of them. I was wondering if I should and why? I will upload some pics later if needed.

If the worms you have are anything like the ones pictured in these links, then they're good to have in a reef tank. If not, can you describe what your seeing?

Tube worms are fine.

Make sure you don't have an aptaisa. If so, take the rock out and break off the portion that its on. Aptasia can be a problem for some. Personally, they have never bothered me, but maybe I've just been lucky that they did not take over.
