Hey all, my name is Jeff I am a former Souther California native, recently moved to Oregon. I have been in this hobby for a very short period of time, but I really like it. I recently joined a club local to me but it seems to be full or drama and members attacking other members. Not my kind of environment. I am hoping this is the kind of resource I have been searching for.

I have heard highly of this site and am very excited to be here.

Welcome.

That sucks about the local club but I understand. We have 2 clubs in town for those exact reasons.

This is a great place for information but as with all info, take everything with a grain of salt and trust your instincts.

Something that does not work for one will be the only way it works for the other etc... Most of all have FUN :)

Yea, like any large group of people you get a few bad ones, but I like spending time here, most are pretty descent. I probably read a hundred posts for every one I make, but it saves me tons of money on books. Also check out Bob Fenner's "wet web media" between here and there I find every answer I need.

If you're new to the hobby don't forget to take a look at some of the threads stickied at the top of forums (especially this one). There is some great reading in them. Otherwise, sit back, do a little bit of reading and when you have them ask questions!

:D

They'll nab you for post padding.... Be careful of what you announce.

Post padding is a no no. Just post on topics you are familiar with. That was you are contributing to the forum.

Hi Jeff, Welcome to RC.

All reef clubs have drama, and it also goes in cycles....so don't give up on your local reefers quite yet....they probably want someone who is serious about the hobby just as much as you do around.....
