i use 1 cup per four gallons of water and i rinse each piece for five minutes each then i have dechlorinating solution that they go in for an hour then rinse and let completely dry .might be overkill but i have never had a problem at all.

When I used the coral skeletons in a fish only display tank, I had 2 complete sets that I would change out every 2-3 weeks.
I used 3 cups of bleach in a 20 gallon container. I would soak them overnight in the solution.
Then I'd rinse them off and soak them in a very strong dechlorinating solution ( start right) for another 24 hours, then let them dry untill I needed to chage them out.

I also use around a 4 to 1 ratio-water to bleach and soak for a couple of hours. Then place in a bucket but use Seachem Prime to nutralize the bleach. I use Prime as it doesn't affect my skimmers as a lot of water conditioners can do.
