i would like to use a my 175 MH over my 20 h , and was wondering what the best stand alone bulb would be so i dont have to supplement with actinics. ive heard 20000k or 14000k but those have only been two suggestions. I need your help because i want to get this build going! thanks

Those are the correct two suggestions - 14K or 20K.
Generally, you will have more blue with 20K bulbs. If that is what you want, then go with a 20K MH bulb.
175 watt 20K XM bulb is a good choice IMO.

yeah but ive also heard the 20ks put out the worst PAR and also the worst growth rates, so i guess what im asking is would a 14k be able to be used by itself or would it need to be supplemented?

You can use a 14k only. Go with a Phoenix 14k.
