Can someone help me identify this.

This is a clear/light brown low very furry mass that has taken over almost everything in just one night! Yesterday before lights out everything was fine, then during the night this covered the bottom, the rocks, everything!

Is it a type of algae (that spreads at night?) or is it a precipitate?

Perhaps it's bacterial? I don't think it's algae since it would have likely bloomed during the day. Are you doing any kind of carbon dosing - vodka or pellets?

Hmm I didn't even think about that. I have both Carbon and GFO. Carbon I use the ROX 8 from BRS.

There are two recent changes. On Saturday, I changed out my carbon and I switched my salt mix from Tunze Pro Reef to Seachem Aquavitro (I had run out). This was a day before this bloom happened.

Still no signs of diminishing.
