I have been looking to start a SW tank. I cannot go big so I have been looking at the JBJ 34 LCD and the Current Solana 34. I really like the look of the Solana. How are they? I was looking at the one with that comes with the MH pendant. The question I have is what are my lighting options for the Solana? I really want to simulate the day. Is the pendant going to allow me to put pretty much what I want in the tank or am I limited? Thanks for the help.

I have a solana... great tank! With a 150w metal halide you can grow pretty much anything provided your water and flow are good. I don't like the heat from the halide personally and thinking about going T5. There are some good options for pretty much any lighting style you find suits you. What do you want to keep?

I had a Solana 34g for about 3 years and LOVED it. The only reason I changed was for more space. I had a current usa 150w mh on it. I would recommend that you get a different light though I was not impressed with there product. Also it depends on what you want to grow, a MH will support most things as long as you water params are good and flow is proper for what you want to keep. Overall a great starter tank.... if you can invest in a good auto topoff system though. The little bottles dont work well IMO. Good luck!!! Keep us posted.

I like a variety of things. I really dont want to bound to what I can put in. I know the size will only alow me so much room but I do nt want the lighting to be the factor. What lights are good for day simulation. I know the MH is either on or off. I looked at the Sunpod's and they llok good. What light do you recommend?
I have had one since July of this year and love it! So far the easiest and quietest tank I have owned to date.
I started with a Sunpod 150 and soon saw I was needing more and up-it to the sunpod 250 w 6 cree LEDs added for actinic's! Awesome lighting now!
