I found this sand at my home depot and wanting to know if it would be ok to use in my reef. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xjv/R-100350221/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053.
The color in the description is beige/cream, does that mean it's white or more brownish in color?

Not a good idea. Get reef sand.

You can get good reef sand for little more of a cost. I would not risk buying that sand.

do you know where I can get some cheap reef sand that's not almost 30 a bag? Is there different types of reef sand or just get the stuff that's white in color?

There are several different types. Most of them are made of aragonite and that is what I would look for. They come in white, tan, pink, black, and a combination (there may be more colors, but these are the ones I know).

I found this sand, it's quite expensive but it's live sand and from what I read you're not supposed to wash live sand so that will save me lots of time. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=16764.
The thing is what is it say's you can get it in regular of a fine oolite? What is that mean and what is better?

There is a lot of die off in those bags. But there is probably some good stuff left. If you get that, then just get one small bag and get the rest as regular dry stuff. Oolitic sand is sugar fine and is the smallest particle size. Are you planning a deep sand bed? or how deep?

Actually that was my next question because I plan on maybe having a .5-1 inch sand bed in my 125. Do you have any idea how many pounds sand that would be? I found this sand, would that be ok? http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=7321 or I also found this http://www.marinedepot.com/CaribSea_Aragamax_Sugar_Sized_Sand_30_lb_Dry_Sand_for_Saltwater_Reef_Aquariums-CaribSea-CS0930-FISSDS-vi.html
