I suppose the question is what species of lion, altho when folks don't specify, I assume it's P. volitans.

Generally speaking, puffers, angels, and non-planktonic feeding triggers are unsuitable, as are any fish that can be swallowed (which means anything less than about 9" for a full-grown volitans). Remember that with proper care and nutrition, a full-grown volitans will grow to 12"-15" (about the size of an American football).

If you haven't read Frank Marini's excellent LIONFISH CARE ARTICLE (http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-11/fm/feature/index.php), give it a couple of reads, as there's lots of great info there.

Frank also has an excellent new book out entitled Lionfishes and Other Scorpionfishes, which I consider a "must have" for lionfish afficianados.

For tips on feeding and weaning your fish, Tools of the Trade (http://www.lionfishlair.com/feedingtechniques/toolsofthetrade.shtml) should answer most of your questions.

I love my antenata lionfish, I have it with a tail spot blenny and six line wrasse and it has never even looked twice at them. It only eats from my tweezers, so far, and I have had it for at least six months. It is about 5 inches. I also have a fuzzy dwarf the same size, and a zebra dwarf lionfish which is smaller. All of them pay no attention to the other smaller fish, although it is always a possibility, especially if they arent feed regularly. I feed mine every other day to every third day.
