They havent been available because of the heat. They are popping up more now that it is cooling down

theres one at a fish store bout 2hrs from me but they want 70 bucks for it. is that normal. the other prob is that its a adult and i was thinking if i get a juvenile so that way i can watch it grow and would live longer

$40-50 USD is the most common price I see. Anything moré, just wait for another IMO, especially if it's a large adult. Small adult = better, at least for me.

i'd pay the 70 for it. Considering stomatopod.com costed $50 per peacock. I live in wilmington and the store was in garner, near raleigh. the shipping was $20 so i paided 70 all together to have it shipped. Since I lived two hours away from stomatopod.com the shipping was cheaper. when you do order it from a online store they may charger 30-40 for shipping. I would talk to your LFS and see if they can get it cheaper for you, I talked to my LFS and he said he can get me one for 60-65.

I have never ordered from any of the follow websites but they both claim to have O. scyllarus.

http://www.oceanproaquatics.com/shop/mantis-clown-peacock-shrimp-odontodactylus-scyllarus-p-6141.html Not sure if I believe they will actually send a O. scyllarus though. Don't they always have the leopard spots on the carapace?

Notice how the listing say "various" and the other site that says the small ones are solid green and the bigger they get the more color they show? Those are most likely not peacocks. The only place I've seen you can be guaranteed to get one is on liveaquaria divers den but they only have one occasionally.

Ive heard a lot of bad things about arizona gardens. Just stick with the larger, well known, places. I looked at every email LA sent me for the past 3 months
