So I have been reading everyone's post and decided that even though I am still in the rough stages I just had to post:smurf:.

So here is what is going on, I have a basement that is about 20' X 40' (In California:bounce2:) and i decided I wanted to make it into an entertainment room. So at the opposite end as the Fire place is where the tank will go. The tank will be built into the cabinet work along with all the entertainment equipment.

The screen for watching movies will lower down directly in front of the fish tank blocking off the light from the tank so I don't have to turn the lights off to watch TV. There will be a bunch of other stuff in the room as well but lets talk about the Tank:jester:.

It is a 250G 96" X 24" X 24" (which i think is a little less than 250), there will be a 125 Gallon Sump with about a 70g ref. Lighting will be a DIY LED setup, I am looking at the Profilux for control and haven't come to a total conclusion on all other equipment.

So here are some pics of the current Project:lolspin:

The tank will generate a great deal of humidity. If you're going to store all the electronics for your home entertainment centre in the same immediate vicinity, how will you keep the area dry? This is a big concern of mine and I'm interested to see what solutions others come up with.

Thx,

Looks sweet! have any pics of the room it is going to go in? Sounds a lot like my build. I have a little different setup though.

Yeah all the pictures in the first post are of the room that the tank will go in. the view 8 is a wide angle lens and almost shows the whole room. As for the humidity, you can see the air duct that I am redirecting, one feed will go directly into the equipment rack that way there will be air blown in and it's need to leave the rack will keep out the humid air from the tank. This air will also be vented above the tank and then vented outside to allow humid air to leave the room.:fish1:

Nice, who made the tank. Does it have 3 overflows ?

ISMANU

Just one overflow in the middle... the two boxes on the ends are for wave boxes and return masking, my goal is to not see anything in the tank other than rock and life:bounce3:

Anyway got a few new toys today and hoping to get some plumbing done soon after thanks giving and the Honeymoon:D

Then on to the MMLR and all that entails I will try to take pictures and document as much of the process as I can my progress is mostly governed by my budget which was annihilated by the wedding.

Trying to do up a scetchup of the layout but I need a lot of practice ... anyway heres what I got

Dream build!
My HT and tank will be in the same room as well, but the tank, the room and the HT aren't as big as yours, nor will the screen come down over the tank....
Oh yeah, and my man cave doubles as the kids' playroom....
Oh we'll, I take what I can get..
Congrats on the marriage, perhaps your man cave will one day double as a play room as well.. :)
I'm interested to see how it comes along.
Good luck!

First an update on the sketchup (sorry its all I have to be excited about as far as progress goes,
http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc516/ISMANU4U2/FishTankSketchup3.jpg

The Reeflo is a Hammerhead/Barracuda Hybrid and there will be 2 when all is done. Now I know your probably thinking "what are you high" but what I haven't drawn yet is that the sump under the tank will only be a collection sump the water will be pumped up and out those windows to the filter room where all the dirty work can take place instead of on my knees under the tank

I will try to see if I can get a better angle when I get home but basically there are 3/4" Grade 5 Bolts threaded into coupler nuts welded to the feet that I used to get it level. The added anchors are because the frame twisted (during Powder Coat we think) and so I anchored the opposing corners down and extended the low corner bolt to twist the frame true.
