Hi All,

I got the BB5000int, and my problem is it is not skimming consistantly. The level fluctuates between below the cone, and flooding the skimmer violently.

I have the water level set about 1" below the start of the cone, there is no back pressure from the outflow (I mean a glass barrier or something hampering the flow out from the outflow).

Basically the water level sits 1.5" above the outflow, any advice please!!!!:bounce1:

I have tried raising the outflow with bricks, and now I have the outlet valve fully closed the water level is under the cone

I have raised the skimmer what I can, it is sitting in 9.5" of water. So to get the over flow above the water level, I cut a plastic pipe that fits perfectly, I hope that works. The only problem is the noise from the outflow, but hopefully that will get the skimmer working.

Can anyone give suggestions on this please

I'd lower the level to ~7 inches

The water level needs to be below the outlet pipe, extending the pipe will not work though. I have tried this myself. If it is overflowing there is only a couple reasons and usually it is because the skimmer is in too much water or the outlet pipe is under water causing backpressure. Another possible reason is chemicals in your water.

Thanks for your advice, my problem is the height of the skimmer is too high then, I will have to try and mod something externally to house the skimmer.

Is the water level the skimmer sits in consistent?

the outflow needs to be out of the water as said above..
