Just what it says, and you can post what model you have, and if you use night mode or not.

Thanks!

I have the 40es and I use the reef crest mode all the time. Not too sure about the night mode. Guess I have to read the manual

I just got one today, so I am interested in what people have to say

I run mine in Lagoon mode. I used to run them in Reef Crest but I like that Lagoon keeps rpm higher for longer periods of time. I run two MP40W's on a 6' 180G in sync mode.

Reef crest without night mode. My
mp20 runs at 65-70% of max in my 20 gallon tank.... mostly sps dominated :)

I have 2 mp10's in my 58. I vary the programming a couple of times a day, just to change up the flow as much as possible.

I used to run Lagoon and Reef Crest mode on my MP10w ES. However it was the only powerhead in my 40 gallon breeder and I HATE that the pump was constantly below 50% power in both modes. Complete waste IMO.

So I was running constant speed mode for about 2 weeks. Much better flow throughout my tank and corals looked better. I just purchased a used MP10 and now that I have two, I will go back to the lagoon and Reef Crest modes. I just have to wait to get my pump back from EcoTech. The thing was louder then my TV! It didn't matter how I aligned it or anything. Even at like 20-30% you could hear a terrible vibrating echoing through the glass.

I like Reef Crest and Lagoon if you have more than one pump.

Lagoon at 100%, keeps the flow higher overall.

I've tried them all and really like the Lagoon mode best on my 90g. I don't use the night mode. On my previous tank, a 34g Solana, I like the Reef Crest mode the best. Both were MP40s.

I am using my MP10 in an ~11 gallon cube as the only flow other than the return, so I am thinking maybe a dialed down reef crest. Any particular reason to use/not use night mode?

I use reef crest at 100% on 2 mp40's on my 125. Maybe one day i'll try the lagoon mode everyone keeps raving about, but me and my corals seem to like it.

^^do you enjoy swimming in the current too? ;)

Good to hear all the different opinions on this, hopefully will spark some beneficial experimenting.

2 MP40w on my 120 gal. Run Reef Crest at 80% during the day and Lagoon Random at 50% at night.

Contact EcoTech and see if yours is normal or needs repair.

My MP10w ES is nearly dead silent. If I put in on 100% then I can hear the motor but my lights' fans our much louder.

The MP10 I just bought, whole other story. Loud as can be and is being sent to EcoTech for repairs.
