On day 3 of cycle, when im finished with the cycle, should i add a heater? since i have a Nano Cube 6 would it be necessary? i've heard that pc lighting on its own will be fine to heat the water

I would get a heater just in case your house heater goes out or there is a really cold day. Unless you keep your heat at 75 degrees 24/7 you will need a heater.

I too would get one just in case. That said, even when the house has dipped below 75, pumps and such are usually enough to keep the tank at an acceptable temperature. I would get something with a controller (or add it to a controller like the reefkeeper lite). There are far more problems that people report with a heater that is stuck on and cooking the tank than there are people complaining their tank is too cold.

All tanks should have a heater.. Relying on the lighting wasted heat is not sufficient.. When lights are not on=no option for heat.
You really don't need it till you start to add inhabitants to your tank. But it can't hurt now either.
Just set it and forget it.

good thinkin..now while we are on the subjecti realized that my bulbs are 24w...doesnt that mean my cube is a 12 gallon, weird thing is , im pretty sure i put 6ish gallons in, i know my math and all.. lol but shouldnt my bulbs be 18w, the only reason im askin, is i ordered the bulbs that the 6 gallon called for which was 18 watt, lets just say WAY to small.. the 24w are the ones i need, do some of the 6 gallons use 24w, even tho they call for 18?
